Guild 25 Exhibit
In honor of its 25th year, the Brighton Art Guild presents “Guild 25,” a membership exhibit of award-winning artworks at three locations: the Norma Gray Gallery (Brighton District Library), CoBACH (Main St.), and the Grand River Brewery (downstairs, Main St.). The exhibits run until the end of October. In September 1999, a small group of local artists responded to an announcement in the local paper about creating an artist group. Today, Guild membership has grown to over 90 artists and supporters from the Brighton area and beyond. Although founder Norma Gray passed away several years ago, several of that original group remain active members. Visit all three venues to view the forty-four participating artists and their 86 works of art ranging from welded sculpture to watercolors to glass and mosaics.
President Pamela Day encourages the community to discover and enjoy the impressive talent among us. “The Guild welcomes artists and supporters of all ages, all media, and all levels.”

Caregiver Support Group – Dementia Specific
Are you caring for a loved one with dementia or other memory related disease? Until we can meet again in person, we are continuing our monthly caregiver support group via Zoom. Connect with others who are on the same journey; learn valuable tools to help you navigate the changes that occur in the disease and more. Carousel Acres is a petting farm located in South Lyon, Livingston County. Family owned for 31 years. We have farm animals and some exotic animals as well. We are having Halloween Fun on the Farm, every Friday and Saturday 5-7 pm. There will be petting farm, pony rides, treats and more. The farm is very decorated with a Disney Halloween theme, not scary. Our volunteers will be dressed in costumes handing out candy.

Big Red Barrel/Unused Medication/Needle Disposal
Big Red Barrel/Unused Medication Disposal The Big Red Barrel will be at Recycle Livingston Saturday October 5, 2024 from 9 am to 1 am to collect unused medications and used needles. Recycle Livingston is located at 170 Catrell Drive in Howell. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance.

Cleary Hosts Tailgate Party For Community
Cleary University will celebrate its annual homecoming with plenty of fun for the entire family! Students, parents, siblings, families, alumni and the entire community are invited to enjoy the festivities Saturday, Oct. 5 from 1 pm to 4 pm on Cleary’s Howell campus.
The Tailgate Party includes Clancy’s Taproom featuring complimentary tailgate appetizers and refreshments, and a cash bar. You can sit by the firepit on the patio of Cleary Commons and enjoy food, music, friendships and conversations with Cleary alumni, students, parents and families. You also can meet many Cleary athletes.
Bring the kids! A bounce house and games will keep them entertained for the entire afternoon.

Meet the creatures that come out at night! Some of our wildlife ambassadors will help teach you all about the adaptations nocturnal animals have for life in the park during a one-hour presentation, then take a night hike with our wildlife experts through our wildlife park to check out what our night owls (and mammals) are up to! Then we’ll take to some of our wooded trails to look for other nocturnal creatures.

U of M/Big Red Barrel/Unused Medication Disposal
U of M/Big Red Barrel/Unused Medication & Needle Disposal
The Big Red Barrel will be with the University of Michigan Pharmacy students on Saturday October 19, 2024 from 9 am to 1 am to collect unused medications and used needles. This event will tke place on the town square in downtown Pinclney. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance.

The Livingston County Concert Band presents their upcoming concert, Tricks and Treats, at 3:00pm Sunday October 20, 2024. The concert will be presented in the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center, Howell High School, 1200 West Grand River Ave., Howell. This concert, featuring music for all ages, includes selections from: Aladdin, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Lord of the Rings, and Wicked. Admission is $10. Children and students are free. This is a symptom of our broken elections, but if we come together, we can work to fix it. Come join your fellow citizens at a Town Hall for a presentation of the problems with our current voting system and our ambitious plan for the solution: Ranked Choice Voting. Please invite your friends, family, and neighbors as well. At our Town Hall, you can ask any and all of your democracy reform questions. Come and meet our volunteers and other reform-minded citizens. This event is part of Rank MI Vote's "40 Town Halls in 40 Days" campaign taking place across the state this fall.
